It’s Your Choice offers short term individual, face-to-face counselling for young people. Currently this is only available for those aged 11-17 years, due to funding.
If you’re a young person and feel counselling may be of benefit to you, or if you know a young person that could benefit from counselling, you can find more information by downloading our Guide to Counselling at It’s Your Choice.
If you would like to refer yourself, or you are working with a young person who you feel would benefit from counselling, you can download a referral form for counselling to complete and bring to a drop-in session, post, or email back to us.
This service is available to young people registered with a GP in the New Forest Area.
Please note: Due to a significant increase in referrals, we are currently seeing higher than normal waiting times of 3-10 months for our counselling service. It’s Your Choice always work towards minimising waiting times for young people, but unfortunately long waits are not always avoidable.
Can’t wait? There are a number of other oranisations operating locally who may also be able to help, such as: iTalk, Relate, Cruse, Simon Says, Yellow Door, Life Changes, Samaritans, Citizens Advice and Solent Mind. Alternatively, you may search for local, private counselling here.
