SELF ESTEEM Self esteem is how you feel about yourself. It may be a happy feeling or it may be a depressing feeling. Having low self esteem can have a major impact your life. It can stop you achieving certain things that you want to do in your life. The signs of low self esteem can vary, some of them apply to timid people and some can apply to bullies. They include:
· Feeling that you're not good enough - even if you are; · Decreased confidence; · Putting yourself down all the time; · Being too scared to try new things; · Unsure of your good qualities; · Making no effort because you expect to mess things up; · Being timid, not asserting yourself; · Losing your temper; · Picking fights; · Blaming others for your problems; · Constantly bickering about petty issues.
Counselling is a very helpful for most people of raising your self esteem. It allows you to talk about the issues that you feel are holding you back. Raising self esteem allows you to feel better about yourself and to see your good qualities.
