TALKING IN CONFIDENCE
It's Your Choice operates a strict confidentiality policy.
The people who work here will try to keep all information you share with us confidential.
However, there are some exceptions to this where we will need to take action.
By action we mean talking to another agency such as Social Services, Police etc.
If you are under 18yrs old and disclose that you have been emotionally, physically or
sexually abused and inaction would place you back into the same situation
If other young people (under18 yr.) are thought to be at risk of abuse e.g. where an abuser is known to be a carer of other young people ( e.g. siblings)
If you are in need of medical treatment due to self harm, a suicide attempt or physical harm from another
If we are told that another person is known to be at risk of serious harm in any other way.
If acts of a sexual and or violent nature have been committed or where there are serious grounds for believing that threats will be acted upon.
If someone from It's Your Choice is summoned to appear in court and has to give evidence.
