HOW DOES
COUNSELLING HELP?

Counselling enables a young person time to talk freely about their feelings or things that are concerning them. They can explore their emotions and chat freely in confidence, with a trained counsellor about any issues they may have and identify ways for them to cope or effectively manage with a difficult situation or to gain a greater understanding of their feelings and use them positively.

The young person will meet with the same counsellor once a week for about 6-8 weeks and discuss any issues concerns or feelings they may have. The counsellor won't tell them what they should and shouldn't do but instead give the young person the skills, knowledge and confidence to make up their own mind about what they want to do.
